Effective: September 23, 2026 · Season 1 (2026–27) · Version 1.1
Read this before you register. When you check the box at checkout and pay your registration fee, this becomes a binding agreement between you and us. It covers what you’re paying for, what we expect from you, the risks of playing, and how we can use footage and photos from league events.
The American Collegiate Padel League (“ACPL,” “the League”) is a program of the American Collegiate Padel Association (“ACPA,” “we,” “us”), a nonprofit corporation organized in Delaware, with offices at 99 Wall Street, Suite 1601, New York, NY 10005.
“You” means the person registering. Registration is personal to you.
Two documents govern your season: these Terms (fees, eligibility, conduct, risk, waiver, media, legal) and the ACPL Rulebook (Edition 1.0) (rules of play, format, scoring, match structure), incorporated by reference and available at the link provided on the registration page. On a legal question these Terms control; on a question of play the Rulebook controls.
If we cancel the season or can’t place you in any competition, you choose: full refund or a credit toward next season. No response within 30 days = refund. Credits are non-transferable and expire at the end of the following season. Rescheduling or cancelling an individual event is not grounds for a refund.
You must be:
Registration is for players 18 and older only. If you are under 18, you are not eligible for Season 1. False or misleading information may result in disqualification with no refund.
If your institution has rules about outside or club competition, or name/image/likeness, it’s on you to confirm ACPL is allowed.
Division assignments are made by ACPL and are final — placement, brackets, seeding, and reclassification. Season 1 runs in four phases: Challenges & Local Invitationals (Sept–Oct) → Regional Championships (Nov) → The Climb to March (Dec–Feb) → National Finals (March).
We may modify rules, format, scheduling, and competition structure. Advancement is earned on court. Travel, lodging, food, and host-club fees are your responsibility unless stated otherwise.
Compete with sportsmanship. No harassment, threats, discrimination, abuse, cheating, match-fixing, gambling on ACPL matches, competing while impaired, or damaging host-club property.
We may warn, suspend, void results, or remove you — at our discretion, with or without warning. Removal for cause = no refund. Section 9 (Media) still applies to material already captured.
You represent that you are physically fit and medically cleared to play competitive padel. ACPL/ACPA does not provide medical, accident, or health insurance for participants and do not pay medical expenses. You authorize us to summon emergency care if needed; any cost is yours. Stop playing if injured. Report injuries on site.
This section limits your legal rights. Read it before you check the box.
Padel is played at speed on a hard court enclosed by glass and mesh walls. Risks include collisions with walls, glass, players, and equipment; being struck by racket or ball; slips, trips, falls; sprains, fractures, concussion; heat illness, cardiac events; equipment failure; conduct of other players; and in rare cases catastrophic injury, permanent disability, or death.
You are choosing to play. You voluntarily assume all risks inherent in padel and in ACPL events — including risks not listed and not currently foreseeable.
ACPA and ACPL; directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors; sponsors and partners; host clubs and their staff; officials and referees; and other participants.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release the Released Parties from any claim arising from your participation, including claims based on inherent risks and on ordinary negligence. This does not cover gross negligence, recklessness, or intentional misconduct, and does not waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
You agree to indemnify the Released Parties against third-party claims arising from your conduct at ACPL events, including injury you cause, property damage, breach of these Terms, or false registration information.
If any part of Section 8 is unenforceable, it is severed to the minimum extent necessary. Your assumption of risk (8.1) and indemnity (8.4) stand independently of the release (8.3).
You grant ACPA/ACPL an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable right to use your name, image, likeness, voice, on-court performance, and competitive information as captured at ACPL matches, events, and activities, in any medium.
League promotion, marketing, reporting — broadcasts, highlights, social media, websites, press, event signage, presentations, recruitment material, and co-branded sponsor promotion.
This does not allow your likeness to be used in a standalone third-party product ad or to imply you personally endorse a product. That requires your separate written consent.
No additional compensation. No approval rights. This is your written consent for purposes of NY Civil Rights Law §§ 50–51. This section survives after your participation ends.
You register as an individual. ACPL is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any college or university. Do not put your school’s name, logo, seal, or athletic mark on ACPL material. Those marks belong to your school and require a license.
Registering does not subscribe you to marketing emails — that requires a separate opt-in. We will send operational messages (receipts, schedules, roster info, rule changes). Your information is handled under the ACPL Privacy Policy (linked on the registration page).

“I am 18+, am a currently enrolled undergraduate, agree to the Season 1 Terms & Waiver, and understand my $25 fee is non-refundable. I consent to wearing the official ACPL jersey in matches and to ACPL using my image from league events.”
By checking it and completing payment, you confirm that you read and understood these Terms — including the waiver (Section 8) and media release (Section 9) — that you are 18 or older, meet the eligibility requirements, and are agreeing freely and voluntarily.
See you on court.
